Dr. Madhav Prasad Ghimire is an Associate Professor at the Central Department of Physics at Tribhuvan Univeristy, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Dr. Ghimire completed his B. Sc (Physics) from North Eastern Hill University, India (2001), M.Sc (Physics) from Banaras Hindu University, India (2003), and PhD from Mizoram University, India (Nov. 2010). He joined Nepal Academy of Science and Technology as a Senior Scientific Officer (2011-2012). He was a NIMS Postdoctoral fellow (2012-2014) at National Institute for Materials Science, Tsukuba, Japan, and in 2015, he received a prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship in Germany. He is recently a recipient of (a) Brain Pool program as Research Professor and (b) International Collaborative Research (as Co-PI) through the National Research Foundation of Korea (2023). Since 2018, he is a faculty member of Tribhuvan university and is guiding a number of PhD and MSc students.

Postdoctoral, PhD and Master Student’s Supervision:

Dr. Ghimire has supervised one Postdoctoral Researcher, multiple doctoral (PhD) students (3 Completed, 8-ongoing. He has also supervised over 50 M.Sc. theses, with more than 35 students later pursuing Ph.D. programs abroad (USA). His active international collaborations include partnerships with institutions such as MIT, Harvard University, IFW Dresden, NIMS Japan, Korea, and several leading universities across Asia, Europe, and the USA.

Reviewer:

He also serves as reviewer for more than 100 articles in leading international journals such as Nature, Nature Physics, Physical Review Letters, Physical Review B, Applied Physics Letters, and many more.
