Tribhuvan University, Institute of Science and in collaboration with the Kathmandu Center for Research and Education (KCRE, CAS-TU), jointly organized a Scientific Workshop on "Effective Exam Question Preparation and Answer Book Evaluation for Faculty Capacity Enhancement" . The Workshop held at the KCRE, aimed to enhance faculty skills on Exam Question Preparation and standardize academic practices to elevate the quality of education system.
The workshop, attended by 31 participants including heads of various central departments of IOST in its first session, was divided into three distinct groups to facilitate focused discussions and hands-on training. Prof. Dr. Shankar Prasad Khanal delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the need for research-based learning and globally competitive graduates. "To meet international standards, we must update our curricula, support faculty development, and foster innovation," Prof. Khanal stated, underscoring the university's commitment to academic excellence. He also highlighted the workshop's significance in his opening remarks. He stressed the importance of standardized answer book evaluation practices and clear marking and grading criteria to ensure consistency in academic activities. "This workshop is a step toward refining our processes and enhancing the credibility of our education system," he added.
Dr. Binod Dawadi, Deputy Director of KCRE, delivered the welcome speech, outlining the objectives of the collaborative initiative. He highly emphasized on academic and scientific contributions of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and KCRE to Tribhuvan University for its research and education. Dr. Dawadi noted "This workshop is designed to prevent and mitigate errors in question paper design and answer sheet evaluation, ensuring fairness and accuracy,"
Dr. Tianli Xu, Deputy Director, Kathmandu Center for Research and Education (KCRE) also shared various academic and Scientific collboration between Tribhuvan Universiry and Chines Academy of Sciences. He Said that KCRE is very positive to extend the Excellent Thesis Grant to large number to Students in coming days.
The event saw active participation from distinguished figures, including Assistant Dean of IOST, Prof. Dr. Mahendra Maharjan, Dr. Khageshowr Mandel, Executive Director of Center for International Relation Mr. Binod Joshi, Dr. Tianli Xu, Deputy Director of KCRE, and various experts and scientists from Tribhuvan University. The workshop featured interactive sessions aimed at equipping faculty with practical tools and strategies to improve examination processes.
